I don't plan on writing these posts. Honestly, I tried one day to plan for 60 posts but that plan went out the window when I feel compelled to write about something I learned or went to get a better handle on. I was reading Ezekiel and it said "You will know I am the Lord your God" several times. I also was praying for some big stuff and felt like I wanted to remember Him by what He has done. To see God move everyday in my life, builds confidence in me and I get to know Him better.
Then I thought "Is it wrong to want to know that God is God by what He has done for us?"
In Ezekiel, He has said that He will do great things for His people and they will know who He is.
1) We will know that He is God when we receive the Holy Spirit. Ezekiel 37:14 And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD.”
2) We will know that HE is God when we are restored to our land and there are a multitude. What was once considered garbage and worthless, He will make it valuable again. Ezekiel 36:38 Like the flock for sacrifices,like the flock at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
3) Others will see the good work and the favor that God has poured out on us and they will believe He is God. Their belief should encourage our belief as well. Ezekiel 36:36 Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I am the LORD; I have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted that which was desolate. I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it.
4) That we will have more than before. That good is poured out on us abundantly. Ezekiel 36:11 And I will multiply on you man and beast, and they shall multiply and be fruitful. And I will cause you to be inhabited as in your former times, and will do more good to you than ever before. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
5) That we will have good health, live prosperously, to be revived from sickness and discouragement. That we will live forever. Not in this physical body, but we will have eternal life with God the Father and Jesus Christ our Savior. Ezekiel 37:14 And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD.”
There are many other passages that talk about "You will know I am the Lord your God". However, we are going to stop here. The point is God wants us to know who HE is. He reveals himself to us through His good works for us. He restores us, gives us our health back, fixes relationships, shows us mercy, grants us favor.
We have access to all of this because Jesus died for our sins, He died as us and was raised from the dead as us. His blood makes us perfect and righteous in God.
Believe that God wants us to know Him not through curses and plaques and famines and natural disasters but through His favor and His perfect love for us.
