Social Decay Moral Decay Voting And God

Social Decay Moral Decay John WesleyVoting Won’t Stop Social Decay

When I look for a candidate for office if it is local or if it is for the Presidency, I know that they will have flaws.  I am not voting for God or someone to do God’s work. I do however think they should agree on some major issues.  These issues have to do with social decay.  The breakdown of society.

I know that some will do Gods work knowingly or unknowingly.  I also know that no matter the office and the power that they have they cannot fix the country of the moral decay and social decay.

All the laws and regulations ever created didn’t fix the root of a problem.

The Church Can Fix Moral and Social Decay

Yes the Church has a big responsibility in the social and moral decay of this country.  First the church didn’t participate in the conversation and they hid.  Yes we are permitted to call things wrong when they are no matter what society says.  It only takes 10% of a nation to push it in a direction if there is no resistance.

I don’t know if the 10% is a fact but I did read it somewhere.

We have become fearful because of our forgetfulness.  We forgot who God is.

Deuteronomy 5:15 ‘You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the LORD your God commanded you to observe the sabbath day.

Deuteronomy 7:17-18 “If you should say in your heart, ‘These nations are greater than I; how can I dispossess them?’ you shall not be afraid of them; you shall well remember what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt:

Whenever things look the worst, cry out to God, He will remember you. God has remembered the nation of Israel when they were slaves.  He remembered them when the times were tough and getting tougher.

But he gave them power to overcome.

Deuteronomy 8:18 “But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

He will do the same for us.

So when you are called old fashioned, stupid, behind the times, homophobic, or an idiot, remember that God has your back.

DO It In Love

If an alcoholic came to church and started to drink beer in the middle of service I think someone would talk to that person.  If two gay people started to show public affection for one another I think we would talk to them.  I not talking about getting mean and angry but explaining the rules of conduct in this social setting.

Do You Trust A New Election?

The point here is that we as people create the social fabric and can influence the nation. So read your Bible everyday.  Remind yourself several times a day that you have power from God in you. God is the final and ultimate winner. And we are called to spread the good news in some way.  I mean spread it to your children, spread it to your spouse and family.  If we just started with these couple of people, the moral and social decay wouldn’t be so bad.

We have more power than Washington D.C. and the state capital.  We have more power than some special interest group that wants to drive the country off a cliff.  We have the power because we believe that Jesus died for sins and was raised from the dead.

GO! Read your Bible everyday and renew your mind with what is right and good and pleasing. Stand firm in the truth of the Bible.
