Apply The Blood of Jesus – Why and How

I wrote in a previous post that Jesus was born so that He could die for us.  With His death and His blood we have the ability to gain much more than eternal life.

The devil tries to keep people ignorant of the facts.  He comes to kill, to destroy and to lie.  But knowledge and wisdom and faith can set us free from the lies of the devil and from the lies of religion.

Defeat The Accuser

The blood of Jesus defeats Satan in our lives.  Satan comes accusing us and condemning us with our past.  First is to recognize that we did something wrong in the past.  Second is to know that our past doesn’t determine our future or our standing with God.   Third be determined that we are not condemned but in fellowship with God through the blood of Jesus.

Revelations 12:10-11 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers[a] has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. 11 And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.

Have Forgiveness of Sins

There is a debt that needs to be paid for our sins.  Jesus Christ paid for our sins with His life, His blood. So there is no worrying about hell, or punishment.

Colossians 1:13-14  He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,  in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins

Consciences Are Cleansed

This is the promised of a transformed mind.  We have a mind that will think about what is right and good and beautiful.  We do what we think about if we think about it long enough.

This goes for good or bad. So with the blood of Jesus applied our consciences no longer thinks and dwells on sin.

Hebrews 9:13-14  For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

We Are Sanctified

We are made righteous in the sight of God.  Righteous implies we are perfect in the sight of God.  It is not because of what we did; it is because of Jesus did for us.

Hebrews 13:12 So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.

We Can Boldly Access The Throne of God

We are no longer separated from God when we believe that Jesus died for us. 2000 years ago Jesus died and was raised from the dead to defeat death. We are no longer enemies but friends even more then that sons and daughters of God.

Hebrews 10:19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus

We Are Redeemed

Redeemed is to regain possession of something in exchange for a payment. Before Adam and Eve ate the apple they had fellowship with God.  They walked and talked with God; they knew Him and had a personal relationship.  We can have the personal relationship back when we apply the blood of Jesus.

Ephesians 1:7-10  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

How To Apply The Blood of Jesus

To apply the blood of Jesus, one has to believe and confess with their mouth that Jesus died for their sins and was raised from the dead sitting at the right of God in heaven.

The blood can be applied to any situation in life.  It can be applied for healing, for finances, for deliverance for family members, strangers, and friends, applied in life circumstances.  It can be used for the promises of God.

Romans 10:10  For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
