7 Emotions Of Success

The 7 Emotions of Success

Success can mean many things to many people.  It ultimately comes down to how you define success for yourself.  However, here are 7 emotions or traits that determine success.  As usual I go to the Bible which is the ultimate authority read about the 7 emotions of success.

Perseverance

Perseverance is the emotion that keeps a person going no matter what obstacles they meet.

Galatians 6:9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.

Psalm 16:8 I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Gratitude

Gratitude is a positive emotion that can find the good in all situations or to think of all of the favor God has blessed you with.

Psalm 107:1 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever

1 Thessalonians 5:15-18 See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you -

Love

Love is a choice we make it is not a feeling.  So yes we get to choose our emotions.  Love is about the other person and lifting them up.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

1 John 4:18-19 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is more about the person offended than the offender.  Forgiveness set the person forgiving free. Forgiveness  let’s you move from the past to the present.

This was said about Jesus - Acts 10:42-43 “…And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Peace

Peace is about the inner feeling of calm and assurance no matter what the situation is.  It is  both dynamic and static.  Peace in the Bible is about being complete – wholeness of life (health), harmony between two people, prosperity and success, and victory over ones enemies.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.

Isaiah 54:10 For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Confidence

Confidence is about being able to trust someone or something.  Our ultimate confidence should be in God.

Hebrews 13:6 So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

Proverbs 3:26 For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.

Faith

Faith is about believing in what is not seen.  Faith is about confidence in the future  because God is trustworthy and keeps His promises.

1 John 5:5  Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
